Made with naturally-derived DHA, Ceramides and Hyaluronic Acid, these fully customizable tanning drops work with your skin tone to deliver a buildable, universal sunkissed glow that looks even better than the real thing. No streaks, no fuss, no irritation.

Traditional fake tans use synthetic Dihydroxyacetone (DHA), which can trigger dehydration, breakouts, and irritation. We discovered a certified organic DHA that creates a natural, healthy glow, with none of the drawbacks – and bolstered it with Hyaluronic Acid and Ceramides to add the benefits of a hydrating, barrier-supporting serum to your tan. Clinically proven to hydrate for up to eight hours**, and dermatologist approved too.

Directions

For best results, we recommend exfoliating first, then applying evenly to cleansed, dry skin. Massage into skin until fully absorbed. Wash hands immediately after use.

The colour will start to deepen after around 2 hours, but allow up to 48 hours for your tan to fully develop. We find it looks best after 24 hours – and if you want more glow, you can always top up.

How many drops? 

  • 2 = Light glow
  • 4 = Medium glow
  • 6 = Deep glow

Alternatively, mix 2-12 drops into moisturiser for a gradual, buildable tan.

    The glue that holds your skin together, Ceramides are essential for a healthy barrier to keep irritation at bay. This cutting-edge complex includes fatty acids from Argan, Meadowfoam, Macadamia and Shea Butter – a sophisticated blend which mimics the skin’s natural Ceramide composition for optimum strength and support.

  • Hyaluronic Acid

    A sugar the body naturally produces, Hyaluronic Acid can hold between 10 and 50 times its weight in water, storing it like a reservoir for the skin – giving a long-lasting, moisturising effect. Our all-natural form comes from maize.

  • Natural DHA

    This COSMOS-approved DHA (Dihydroxyacetone) is bioengineered from Glycerin. It interacts with amino acids in the skin's keratin layer – triggering what’s known as the Maillard reaction to produce a sunless tan, bespoke to your skin tone. How is this different from The Impossible Glow™?

In many ways they’re similar! Our bronzing drops can be added to your moisturiser or applied directly to the skin. And both formulas are enhanced with Hyaluronic Acid to hydrate.

However, The Impossible Glow™ uses a natural pearlescent pigment to deliver instant glow, and is fully washed away at the end of the day. The Impossible Tan™ is a sunless tanner that takes up to 48 hours to develop and gradually fades with each cleanse, unless topped up.

Do I need to use a tanning mitt to apply it?

No, The Impossible Tan™ is a gradual tanner, but if washed off your hands directly after application, it won’t develop into a tan there. It’s also designed to leave no streaks on the skin and no transfer of tan onto your clothes or pillows.

Is it suitable for use during pregnancy?

Yes.

Do I need to wash off The Impossible Tan™ after applying?

No, you don’t need to rinse it off. The Impossible Tan™ is a leave-on, hydrating self-tan formula that develops over time. Just remember to wash your hands thoroughly after application to prevent staining your palms.

How many drops of The Impossible Tan™ should I use?

The number of drops depends on your skin tone and the depth of tan you want. Here’s a general guide when applying directly to skin:

  • 2 drops for a light glow
  • 4 drops for a medium tan
  • 6 drops for a deeper tan

For a more gradual, buildable tan, mix The Impossible Tan™ with your moisturizer or serum. You can use up to 12 drops depending on your desired intensity.

How long does The Impossible Tan™ take to develop?

Do I need to wear SPF with The Impossible Tan™?

Yes, we recommend wearing SPF daily, including when using The Impossible Tan™. While the formula gives your skin a sunkissed glow, it does not contain any SPF or sun protection.

Using a broad-spectrum SPF helps protect your skin from UV damage and will also help your tan last longer and fade more evenly.

What should I do if I’ve applied too much of The Impossible Tan™?

If you’ve applied too much and your tan looks darker than expected, don’t worry — it will gradually fade with each cleanse. To speed up the fading process, you can:

  • Cleanse your skin with a gentle face or body wash
  • Use a mild exfoliator to help lift excess colour
  • Repeat over a couple of days for an even fade

Avoid harsh scrubbing, which can cause patchiness. Instead, exfoliate gently and moisturize to keep skin smooth as the tan fades.

Will The Impossible Tan™ work for my skin tone?

Yes, The Impossible Tan™ is suitable for all skin tones. The formula uses natural DHA (Dihydroxyacetone), which reacts with amino acids in the top layer of your skin through the Maillard reaction — the same process that causes browning in food. This means the tan adapts to your unique skin tone to create a natural-looking, bespoke glow every time.

Can it be mixed into SPF?

We don't recommend mixing any product into SPF as it might affect the SPF protection. However, you can apply SPF over the top.

Will The Impossible Tan™ darken any pigmentation on my face?

The Impossible Tan is designed to develop evenly across the areas it’s applied to, but it may still deepen areas of existing pigmentation as it develops.

However, since it also deepens the overall skin tone, the contrast between your natural tone and those areas will appear less noticeable.

How do you recommend we patch test?

Apply a small amount to your inner elbow, neck or wrist for three consecutive days to make sure it suits your skin. You may want to choose an area less visible, but these are the areas we recommend.
